Congratulations! TWiST Founding Member Professor Mei-Hung Chiu Receives IUPAC Chemistry Education Award

Professor Mei-Hung Chiu received the Distinguished Contribution to Chemistry Education Award at the IUPAC International Conference on Chemistry Education, held in Thailand from July 15 to 19, 2024. She is the first Taiwanese scholar to receive this honor.
Professor Chiu has achieved distinction in chemistry education while actively participating in international chemistry organizations and academic activities. Her work has strengthened global exchange and collaboration in chemistry education while expanding Taiwan’s influence within the international science education community.
In 2021, she also received the IUPAC Distinguished Women in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Award, recognizing her scientific and educational contributions as well as her leadership and service.
Founded in 1919, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) brings together scientific and chemical organizations from more than 60 countries. As one of the world’s leading chemistry organizations, it is responsible for naming newly discovered elements and establishing international scientific standards.
