【President’s Message】
“Carrying Forward Our Mission, Shaping a Diverse and Inclusive Future”

Serving as President of the Society of Taiwan Women in Science and Technology (TWiST) is both an honor and a responsibility. I am grateful for the trust and support of our members. Since TWiST was founded in 2011, our past presidents, directors, supervisors, and senior members have given their time and effort to build the Society from the ground up. Their work has created a bridge for women from different fields of science and technology to meet and exchange ideas. At a time when women were still a minority in many of these fields, they led the way, laid a firm foundation, and made room for dialogue. As a result, more women have been able to connect, support one another, and share their experience. Their determination to turn ideas into reality is one of TWiST’s most valuable assets and will continue to guide our work.

We are grateful for the continued support of our members and many partners over the years. TWiST has always valued diversity, inclusion, shared growth, and mutual support. It is also committed to increasing women’s participation in science and technology. The rapid development of AI and other technologies brings challenges, but it also creates opportunities for women to contribute their insight, resilience, and creativity. During my term, I hope to work with our partners to represent women in science and technology and engage more closely with government, industry, and academia. We will continue to address gender barriers and bias and put our call for gender-inclusive workplaces into practice. Our aim is to create an environment where more women can pursue professional excellence and make full use of their abilities.

Our goal for the future is to build a science and technology ecosystem that is resilient, supportive, and attentive to people. By continuing to promote STEM education, strengthening support networks, and maintaining close ties with international organizations for women in science and technology, we will help prepare the next generation of scientists and engineers. We hope that every woman in science and technology can shape her own future in a fair environment where she is respected and valued. Women’s expertise can then play a central role in advancing society and supporting sustainable development.
