The New Power of Women in the AI Era

On April 13, the Women Engineers Committee of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, Microsoft Taiwan, and TWiST jointly hosted the Coding Angels event at Microsoft Taiwan’s headquarters. The event attracted 80 women university students from across Taiwan.

Under the theme “Lean into AI,” the event encouraged women to embrace the challenges of the AI era and recognize their potential. As a co-organizer, TWiST contributed its professional expertise and innovative perspective.

Wen-Chen Hsueh, Chair of the Women Engineers Committee, Committee Member Min-Chun Hu, and coordinating member Mei-Hsuan Lu delivered remarks during the opening and closing sessions, emphasizing women’s importance and potential in technology. TWiST President Jui-Hua Hung also shared her expectations for the growing influence of women in technology.

Close Interaction and Cross-Disciplinary Inspiration

Coding Angels created opportunities for university students to interact directly with experienced professionals. Women professionals from Microsoft shared their career experiences and technical insights, giving participants a valuable learning opportunity. Their stories introduced students to interdisciplinary and cross-sector careers while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and exploration.

Throughout the event, participants experienced the distinctive perspectives and creativity women bring to technology. Their discussions expanded their understanding of AI and its potential applications. Events like this aim to cultivate more women in technology and empower them to shape the industry’s future.

Coding Angels successfully demonstrated women’s growing influence in the AI era and encouraged more women to pursue technology careers as future leaders and innovators. We believe that increasing numbers of women will excel in technology and contribute to innovation and social change.
