Commemorating Professor Chiari Wu, a Pioneering Woman in Science and Technology

On October 12, 2024, the Taiwan Women in Science and Technology Association (TWiST) hosted “Across Time and Space with Chiari Wu: A Journey of Science and Spirit", a commemorative event and launch of HERstory, TWiST's first interactive picture book. Combining technology and storytelling, HERstory honors Professor Chiari Wu’s remarkable contributions to scientific research and gender equality.

Using Spark AR technology, HERstory created an augmented reality experience that allowed participants to interact with the picture book and explore Professor Wu’s life and achievements. This innovative format brought her story to life, helping participants better understand her scientific spirit, dedication to gender equality, and lasting influence. It also highlighted TWiST’s longstanding mission and commitment to supporting women in science and technology.

The event was hosted by TWiST President Jui-Hua Hung. Former President Shun-Lien Song, Professor Man-Yu Lin, and Professor Hsien-Cheng Tseng, former president of National Hsinchu University of Education, joined other distinguished guests in sharing memories of Professor Wu and reflecting on her contributions to science and society.
