In celebration of International Women’s Day 2026, the Social Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government and Chaoyang University of Technology jointly held the Taichung Women’s Empowerment Forum on March 6.
Shun-Lien Sung, a Supervisor of the Taiwan Women in Science and Technology and founder of MRS MICRO-WORK COMPANY LIMITED, was invited to speak at the forum. Drawing on her experience as a woman working in technology, she shared how digital expertise can be used to challenge conventional frameworks and transform professional knowledge into meaningful social action.
Centered on the theme “Women’s Empowerment and Support × Social Impact,” the forum brought together perspectives from industry and public policy to explore practices related to women-friendly workplaces and women’s economic empowerment. It also highlighted the vital roles women play in technology applications, corporate leadership, and urban development.
The event contributed to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality, while providing women in science and technology with a valuable platform for professional exchange, mutual support, and empowerment.
