The 2026 Chemistry National Meeting, organized by the Chemical Society of Taiwan, took place at National Chung Hsing University from March 6 to 8, 2026. Under the theme “Innovative Chemistry for Sustainability, Intelligence, and Health,” the meeting brought together scholars from Taiwan and abroad, industry professionals, and students to exchange the latest research and highlight chemistry’s vital role in sustainability, smart technologies, and health. The Taiwan Women in Science and Technology Association (TWiST) was pleased to support this major annual event.

The meeting featured a wide-ranging program spanning organic, inorganic, analytical, and physical chemistry, as well as biomedicine, materials, semiconductors, theoretical and computational chemistry, artificial intelligence, sustainable chemistry, and chemistry education. Whether participants focused on fundamental research, applications, or industry trends, the program offered valuable insights across the field.

Alongside academic lectures and research presentations, the meeting hosted interdisciplinary activities including the Taiwan–Japan Chemistry Forum, a special session on AI-driven drug discovery, forums on green chemistry and chemistry education, industry–academia sessions, and recruitment and corporate information events. The Women Scientists Session and Young Chemist Forum also created opportunities for researchers at different career stages and from different generations to exchange perspectives and inspire one another.

The meeting also recognized recipients of academic medals, early-career awards, and student paper awards, reflecting the depth of Taiwan’s chemical research and talent development. A total of 2,044 people registered in advance, and 2,027 checked in, for an attendance rate of 99.2 percent. Among them were 1,483 students—clear evidence of the younger generation’s enthusiasm for chemical research and the energy they bring to Taiwan’s scientific development.

For TWiST, supporting an event like this means more than supporting a conference. It means supporting a platform where knowledge can circulate, interdisciplinary collaboration can grow, and diverse talent can be seen. We look forward to more opportunities for scientists across fields and generations to connect through exchange and work together toward a more sustainable, intelligent, and inclusive future for science and technology.
