2023 Taiwan–EU Gender Equality Forum | July 5 - 6 at Great Skyview Hotel

Taiwan and the European Union launched the Taiwan–EU Gender Equality Cooperation and Training Framework (GECTF, 2019–2023) in 2019. Using Taiwan as a regional platform and the EU as a learning partner, the initiative has promoted international exchange on gender mainstreaming, LGBTI rights, and related policies and practices.

Since 2019, GECTF has organized several workshops and conferences, including:

• June 2019: Taiwan–EU Gender Equality and Human Rights Training Series—Gender Mainstreaming Workshop

• October 2019: LGBTI Human Rights Conference—Marriage Equality and the Protection of LGBTI Rights

• October 2022: LGBTI Human Rights Conference—Protecting the Rights of Intersex, Transgender, and LGBTI People

As 2023 marks the final year of GECTF, this forum will provide a concluding review of the initiative. In response to the continuing challenges of the post-pandemic and digital eras, representatives from different countries will examine gender equality issues experienced during the pandemic and exchange strategies and visions for advancing equality afterward. The forum aims to continue supporting progress in gender equality and human rights throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
