2026 Summer Photonics Science Camp – Taitung: Discover Your Potential Through Light

Spend two inspiring summer days on Taiwan’s east coast exploring the world of photonics. From satellite remote sensing and smart displays to renewable energy, photonics is a driving force behind many of the technologies shaping our lives. This camp invites senior-high-school students from across Taiwan to learn directly from leading professors and specialists, discover how optical technologies work, and experience hands-on science in a university setting.
Cross-Sector Collaboration, Empowering Future Talent
The Taiwan Women in Science and Technology Association (TWiST) is a co-organizer of this camp. We believe that curiosity and scientific potential know no gender. Through TWiST’s participation, we especially hope to encourage more girls who are interested in science and engineering to take their first step, build confidence through experimentation, and see themselves as part of the future of technology. Students of all genders are welcome.
Distinguished Instructors
Professors and specialists from National Taiwan University, National Cheng Kung University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Sun Yat-sen University, National Dong Hwa University, and the Taiwan Space Agency will guide participants from foundational concepts to hands-on practice and introduce them to the atmosphere of university research laboratories.
Event Information
Dates: July 3–4, 2026 (Friday–Saturday)
Venue: Library and Information Center, Zhiben Campus, National Taitung University
Eligibility: Current senior-high-school students throughout Taiwan, including recent graduates
Fee: NT$3,500; early-bird fee NT$3,200 for registration completed by April 24
Fee reductions are available to eligible students from low- and middle-income households and Indigenous students.
Capacity: 60 participants; registration closes when all places are filled.
