2021 Gender Perceptions in Science and Engineering (GISE): International Survey Report on Gender Barriers

About the Project

With support from the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES), other INWES members, and scholars, the Korean Women Scientists and Engineers Association (KWSE) began conducting the Gender Perceptions in Science and Engineering (GISE) survey on gender barriers in the Asia-Pacific region in 2014.

The survey was expanded to include Africa in 2018. In 2021, INWES and KWSE worked together to extend the survey to regions around the world.

Through this survey, INWES and KWSE aim to develop a meaningful gender indicator that can be used to compare STEM environments across different countries and regions and potentially serve as a tool for advancing gender equality in STEM.

2021 Survey Report Now Available
